This time, Lennon Tool Bar ventures into Alishan Mountains, the deep land of ancient trees, and a mountainous town preserved in the expansive mist located in Northeastern Taiwan. Let’s all go for a walk together. As the sun dips into the sea, a mist encroaches upon the mountainous city like rolling tides. The entire hill seems to be concealed within the folds of time, preserved along the secluded northeastern coast and isolated from the rest of the world. Initially, it started to promote arts and crafts of Indigo Dyeing, a business that flourished a century ago in Taiwan, and at the time, Taiwan exported a considerable amount of “doroai,” or the raw material of colorants used in Indigo Dyeing, to the Japanese Empire. Lennon Tool Bar draws inspiration from the traditional process and the popular colors used in Indigo Dyeing.
