Dominant Industry DOHWA Watercolor – Set of 8

DOHWA is a new solid watercolor paint brand launched by Dominant Industry, a five-year-old ink manufacturer. Dominant Industry has developed and tested watercolor binders and variety of colors in order to bring you high quality, handmade solid watercolor paint. The watercolor paint is similar to ink but has a different charm. It was developed to use with a brush, but is also suitable for dip pens. The set contains 8 colors, all inspired by nature just like the fountain pen inks from Dominant Industry.  Solid watercolor paints 8 Colors: Ignis (Light Purple), Ariel (Pale Mint), Archane (Deep Violet), Oread (Bronze Gold), Naiad (Cobalt Blue), Sylvan (Forest Green), Phoenix (Scarlet Red) and Glacier (Emerald)  A clear palette with fairy castle design is included In our testing with a dip pen, we diluted the solid watercolor with a wet paintbrush and collect the diluted solution into a separate jar for dipping About Dominant Industry: Dominant Industry, based in Paju, Korea, makes small-batch specialty inks for dip pens. Adapting mixing and blending techniques developed for silk-screen inks, they have developed calligraphy inks with unique mirror and metallic finishes that are expressive and beautiful on paper, plastic, film, and glass.  If digital CMYK colors are flat shades that are created through a subtractive process, Dominant Industry prides itself on its life-like colors that are created through an additive process, utilizing reflective and transparent pigments that incorporate natural light. Dominant Industry strives to create “bottled light,” colors that can be felt and experienced. This idea is reflected in Dominant Industry’s 4 different finishes: Hologram, Mirror, Pearl, and Standard.
